About Caitlin Dutton-Reaver

Caitlin is a versatile creative professional with extensive experience in administration, performing arts, and production.

ADMINISTRATION

Caitlin entered the performing arts administration field in NYC as Studio Manager and Curator for Chez Bushwick (now Jonah Bokaer Arts), developing programming that fostered collaboration between local artists, community members, and businesses. She also had the honor of collaborating with the French Embassy, CPR – Center for Performance Research, Sciences Po, and more to provide hyperlocal access to a global community. Continuing a career of connecting artists with opportunity, Caitlin worked at Dance Media (Dance Magazine, Dance Spirit, Dance Teacher, Pointe, and the now defunct Dance Retailer News) and subsequently The Juilliard School’s Admissions Office.

Most recently, she had the distinct honor of working as Project Manager for PBS North Carolina’s Media Innovation Lab, producing the early literacy mobile game Read-a-roo Zoo, working as a Coordinating Producer on several episodes of the music broadcast Shaped by Sound, and driving impact measurement for the digital series Mini Fab Science Lab among many other initiatives. She continues to be a proud supporter of public media.

PERFORMANCE

Caitlin is a graduate of the Conservatory of Dance at SUNY Purchase, studied at the London Contemporary Dance School, and holds an MFA from Montclair State University. She has performed on concert dance stages and site-specific venues in New York, California, Georgia, and London for choreographers/companies such as Joanna Kotze, Jody Oberfelder, Regina Nejman, Calpulli Danza Mexicana, Amalgamate Dance Company, Lane Gifford, Rosalind Newman, Nelly van Bommel, Backhausdance, Motion/TRIBE, Lauri Stallings, and Richard Alston. Starting in 2015, she devoted the bulk of her career to Third Rail Project’s Bessie award-winning immersive theater production Then She Fell with nearly 1,100 performances in three roles.

She has presented dances domestically and internationally as an independent choreographer since 2010. As of 2014 under the caitlin+dancers moniker, her company was presented in numerous traditional and site-specific venues throughout NYC and the surrounding region such as the Martha Graham Studio Theater, Socrates Sculpture Park, City Center Studios, Brookfield Place, Grounds for Sculpture, WestBeth Artists’ Residence, Dixon Place, Triskelion Arts, and the Falchi Building. She has also toured along the East Coast from NYC to Vermont, Georgia, and North Carolina. The company rebranded as Stray Performance Projects in 2020 to incorporate a wider range of performance including immersive dance theater.

Caitlin currently resides in Durham, NC, and works between NC and NYC. Since 2020, she has collaborated and performed throughout Greensboro and Durham in site-adaptive work and served as an artist-in-residence with the NC Dance Festival.
